GEOGRAPHY/ DEMOGRAPHY
      
Situated between the two provinces of Punjab & N.W.F.P, the ICT meets Punjab on east, south and north side i.e., Rawalpindi district while N.W.F.P on the north-west which is Haripur district. 
The Police jurisdiction extends up to 30 minutes drive which limits the police reaction time.
    

The ICT is divided into urban and rural areas so is the police district.

URBAN AREAS.

Urban areas not only accommodate more than half of the population but are subject to more crime as well. The populations consist mostly of Govt. servants, the local businessmen and the foreign nationals.

RURAL AREAS.

Mostly the outskirts of ICT make this area, which consist of not only the old local population of this area
but also a large number of Afghan refugees and laborers working on the construction sights all over ICT.
There are 13 Kachi Abadis, located mostly in the periphery of ICT but some are located in areas like sector G-8, G-6/2, F-7/4 and F-7/1.
